An idiot on the world stage

As we all know, Bush's brain has left the White House and now he is acting even more like an idiot on the world stage. While attending a summit of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation Forum (APEC) he thought he was attending an OPEC summit, that's short for Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries. And when thanking his Australian hosts for their contribution to the war in Iraq he was talking about “Austrian” troops. (The Times: “How Australia became Austria – and in Opec”)

This guy really doesn't know what he's talking about, he is merely able to misread the papers and briefing notes written by his staff. This guy is commander-in-chief of the Big Paper Tiger, the army with the most firing power in the world. Not only is he an idiot, he's also a war criminal and still the leaders of other states are treating him like one of their own. Can't the American people see the damage he is doing to its reputation?

Bush... a winner???

Anybody writing an opinion piece entitled “Why Bush Will Be A Winner” (Washington Post) must be insane or have criminal intentions. William Kristol is probably insane and has criminal intentions. What are his arguments for calling Bush a winner?

Kristol praises Bush because there has not been a second terrorist attack on U.S. soil since September 11, 2001. This “achievement” is build on quicksand, it can vanish any day.

Second, Kristol claims the economy is strong. Not so. The U.S. government is paying itself to death financing the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. America only survives on borrowed money.

Third, argues Kristol, on the war in Iraq “we now seem to be on course to a successful outcome”. Where he gets that idea? Shouldn't he be listening to the men and women in uniform with their boots on the ground in Iraq? They could tell him a different story. And the war in Afghanistan “going reasonably well”? Well, the output of opium is rising and the number of suicide bombings is increasing. And of course Kristol once again claims Saddam Hussein had connections with al-Qaeda. The truth is al-Qaeda couldn't get a foothold in Iraq under Saddam, while today Iraq is its main recruiting and training base.

Some people even forget their own words. In April 2003, Kristol wrote: “The battles of Afghanistan and Iraq have been won decisively.” Today, the first is “going reasonably well” and as to the second “we now seem to be on course to a successful outcome”. What happened to those decisive victories?

Some people will always refuse to see the truth. Nobody should believe them. And a newspaper like the Washington Post shouldn't print such nonsense.

Kristol concludes “If Petraeus succeeds in Iraq, and a Republican wins in 2008, Bush will be viewed as a successful president”. Petraeus, nor any other American commander will ever win in Iraq, that is an absolute certainty written in marble. As for a Republican win in 2008, who is willing to bet on that?

Bad bad birthday

... Mr. President! The world's No 1 war criminal – George W. Bush – turns 61 today. All peace loving peoples and all Americans who still have left an ounce of decency can only wish the president a very very bad birthday. (The Guardian: Congress and Libby give Bush the birthday blues)

It seems he is getting the message. The situation in Iraq is getting worse every day. The surge isn't working and even Republican senators don't want to wait till September to be told the inevitable – that no, because the Iraqi government didn't do its job, the surge didn't work.

Bush can only stick to his disastrous and criminal strategy – like a burned-out potato stuck to the bottom of the pot – because reversing course now, when everybody can clearly see the catastrophe, will not win him any points. Like a black fly who cannot extricate its legs from a mighty piece of shit, Bush is contemplating about his place in history and how future historians will rate him. His place is already reserved before he steps down: the worst president the U.S. has ever had in its entire history – period.

The leader of the 'free and the brave' remains holed up in the White House, at Camp David or Kennebunkport – too afraid to go to a restaurant in Washington D.C. because of the hostile attitude from the American people. He has lost all trust and all capability to govern except as a dictator trampling underfoot the constitution of the United States.

We wish you a bad bad birthday, Mr President.

Bush in Tirana

Since the end of World War II and until 1990, Albania, under the leadership of the Party of Labor, was a fiercely anti-imperialist country. Enver Hoxha railed against American imperialism as well as Soviet Social-imperialism. He had thousands of bunkers built to withstand a NATO invasion. Today, Albania is one of only a few countries where George W. Bush is greeted with smiles and hugs instead of protests. And the country's post-communist government is considering to become a NATO member. (CNN: Warm welcome for Bush in Albania)

Albania has really made a 180 degree turn. Some Albanians like Bush because he supported their ethnic brethren in Kosovo against the Serbs and is now pushing for the independence of Kosovo. Such a narrow-minded viewpoint is a mistake. You can support the independence of Kosovo without supporting Bush and you don't need American backing to achieve that aim. It is hypocritical to support the independence of Kosovo and the rights of the Kosovar people on the one hand and sent 120 troops to Irak and 22 to Afghanistan to help the Americans murder the Iraqi and Afghan people on the other hand. Moreover, the Albanian government allowed 500 U.S. Marines into the country to protect Bush during his seven-hour visit.

The Albanians gave Bush a disgraceful welcome. He deserves worse.

The new crusaders

Pope Benedict XVI, successor to the popes who have organized the Crusades to murder Muslims – and Jews – in the Holy Land, and George W. Bush, who continues to murder Muslims in Iraq, met up for a cozy half an hour chat at the Vatican. For the Catholics, the Pope is the representative of God on earth. How could this “Holy Father” shake the hand of a war criminal and mass murderer? And if God is looking on, how could he refrain from “pulverizing” those two?

According to some reports, (CNN: Bush calls meeting pope a 'moving experience') the Pope reproached Bush for the Iraq mess and Bush stood “in awe” before the Pope, whom he addressed with the rather unholy “sir”. What's the use of this meeting? Bush does not recognize the Pope as the head of his religion, since he belongs to a Protestant sect. And the Pope was unable to stop the bloodshed in Iraq. Just another meaningless photo-op.

Bush said the Pope was a “a very smart, loving man”. Loving to whom? To Bush or to the Iraqi people? You can't be loving both...

If the Pope wants to be remotely useful, he could have told Bush that God doesn't like his Iraq War and he would go straight to Hell if he wouldn't recall his troops immediately. Obviously the Pope didn't do that. Shame on him.

The white tie

This topic is a bit outdated, but had to queue for more important issues to be addressed first. Still, let's give this a try, because for once – yes just this once – and only on this very particular topic – I agree with (hold your breath...) George W. Bush! Yes, weird things do happen in this world...

Our favorite Texas cowboy was horrified when wife Laura gently told him he had to don the full regalia of a top-of-the-bill gala dinner on the occasion of the visit of Britain's Majesty Queen Elisabeth II to the White House. Now I had heard about a black-tie dinner (horrible enough), but this was to be a white-tie dinner. Gosh, I had to turn to Wikipedia to find out what this thing was all about. By now, you know I am an ardent opponent of any “dress code” whatsoever. Let freedom reign. Let everybody wear whatever he or she likes or even wear nothing at all... My personal favorites are: a Mao jacket, Kim Jong-Il's bomber jacket or Fidel's battle dress. And yes, a checkered shirt and jeans.

So, this once, I sympathized with George W. Bush. Although, of course, he shouldn't be hosting white-tie dinners at the White House, but should be on death row at an International War Crimes Tribunal, but that's besides the point in this case.

Because in this case the Queen was plain wrong. As a guest in the U.S. who the Hell she thinks she is forcing the president to wear a ridiculous outfit just to please her? Of course, George Bush blew it by winking at her and getting his anniversary dates wrong. But nobody, not even a war criminal, should be subjected to the torture of a white-tie dinner.

Reaching the bottom

George W. Bush has finally reached his destination. He can sink no lower. Many have said it before: Bush is the worst president in U.S. history. The latest addition to the growing chorus is Al Neuharth, the founder of USA Today. (USA Today: Mea culpa to Bush on Presidents Day).

A year ago he doubted that Bush would ever make the top of his “worst presidents' list”, or put in another way, the bottom, the worst ever president of the U.S. of A. If not impeached, Bush still has two years to go and he already reached the bottom. On Presidents Day (yesterday, February 19 in the U.S.), Neuharth published a mea culpa for his declaration a year ago.

“Is he just a self-touted decider doing what he thinks right? Or is he an arrogant ruler who doesn't care or consider what the public or Congress believes best for the country?”, Neuharth asks himself.

Another bad president, Richard Nixon, resigned. Bush just sticks to the bottom.

Meanwhile, senate majority leader Harry Reid declared that the Iraq war was “the worst foreign policy mistake” in U.S. history. Now was it? It's tempting to say so, just to further rub salt in Bush's combat wounds. Still, it ain't so. First of all, let's not talk about “mistakes”. The invasion of Iraq was not a “mistake” but a war crime and a crime against humanity.

The biggest crime of the U.S. was its founding, in the process practically eradicating the native Indians. That surely counts as genocide. Second the dropping of atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, killing hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians. Third, the U.S. war on Communism, starting with the arming of Chiang Kai-shek, the invasion of Korea and including the Vietnam War. Fourth, its support for the Zionist regime in Israel. Its coming aggression against Iran should rank somewhere in between. And sixth, sure, the Iraq war.

Another example of a wrong question is whether prince Harry should “serve” in Iraq. Well of course he should, just like everybody else, is the first answer that comes to mind. Wrong! He is not “serving” anything at all, least of all his country. Second, if he goes, he will be committing a war crime. It's wrong to advocate the committing of war crimes. No, Harry should not “serve”. British troops should get out of Iraq.

Refuse to be a war criminal

Next Monday, the court-martial of First Lieutenant Ehren Watada is set to commence at Fort Lewis near Seattle. (The Baltimore Sun: Truth has consequences for soldier of conscience) 1st Lt. Watada is a hero for refusing to follow War-Criminal-in-Chief George W. Bush's order to commit the crime of aggression, crimes against peace, to commit war crimes and to be an accessory to genocide and crimes against humanity. He is the first commissioned officer to refuse deployment to Iraq.

Finally, nearly four years after the invasion, the U.S. Army produces a hero! Because of his heroic conduct, Officer Watada is being court-martialed. He should receive the Purple Hart for exemplary conduct, standing up to his war criminal commander and refusing to become a war criminal.

Officer Watada is also accused of the “use of contemptuous words for the president”, at a time when a majority in the U.S. Congress is publicly uttering “contemptuous words for the president”.

American soldiers 'serving' or having 'served' in Iraq are all war criminals, guilty of the crime of aggression. It is they who should be court-martialed. They have the blood of innocent Iraqi civilians on their hands. Or the blood of Iraqi resistance fighters, who have every right, according to international law and the U.N. Charter, to defend their homeland against the American imperial stormtroopers.

Most of those soldiers are ignorant, stupid, bumpkins who learned in primary school to follow the Commander-in-Chief and never learned to use their brains. It is not their fault. The American Empire never taught them to think independently. But if they want to receive clemency, they should help bring Bush to justice. The world is waiting for the court-martial of George W. Bush!

As the story in the Baltimore Sun points out, war is only legal if authorized by the U.N. Security Council or in self-defense. The U.N. Security Council didn't authorize the invasion of Iraq, nor did Saddam's Iraq ever attacked the United States.

Lieutenant Watada believes no soldier should give a life, or take a life, for a lie. Every soldier has the duty to disobey illegal orders or refuse to violate the Geneva Conventions. It is those who obey who are breaking the law. May this soldier of conscience win his heroic battle.

"World's #1 Terrorist"

When Allen Jasson tried to board a Melbourne to London Qantas flight wearing a T-shirt proclaiming the truth and nothing but the truth, he was prevented from boarding the aircraft because the truth may offend fellow passengers.

Somebody wearing a T-shirt proclaiming blatant lies, would no doubt be allowed to board. What does this say about the view Qantas management has about its passengers. Bloody fools?

So what did Allen's T-shirt proclaim? “World's #1 Terrorist” above a picture of the world's Number One terrorist. What's wrong with that? Of course we may disagree about who is the world's number one terrorist. But it's not quite like disagreeing about who is the world's most beautiful woman. The latter is a matter of taste, and tastes may differ. The first is a matter of logic and mathematics.

Osama perhaps? No, he's not the most beautiful woman. He didn't even have a sex change last time we checked. We're talking about the terrorist. Does Brother Osama merit this honor? Let's see, 3,000 deaths on 9/11, plus a few other terrorist attacks, now let's be generous, won't we? 10,000? Let's give Osama a bonus! Let's add a zero on the house. Here you go, a hundred thousand for Osama bin Laden. Not that it's true, we're way off the mark here, but we're only being generous to help Osama to the coveted number one spot so his photogenic face may grace a T-shirt or two.

Sorry Mate! Really, Osama, you still have some work ahead of you. Who caused the deaths of 655,000 Iraqis, a hundred thousand Afghanis and is planning to murder a million Iranians? No, not Osama bin Laden.

Gimme that paper, will you? And the winner is ...

The managers of Qantas are a bunch of idiots, no doubt in part because of the number of criminals among their forefathers. Qantas should be grounded. (BBC News: Flight ban for anti-Bush T-shirt)

Please note: In no way did I associate Australians with criminals. Many Australians are wonderful people (and I am not only talking about the girls). Qantas management is a disgrace to Australia!

Will Bush regret it?

The Sunni Mujahideen Shura Council of Iraq has offered the U.S. forces safe withdrawal from Iraq within a month. The U.S. has two weeks to reply to the offer. Abu Omar al-Baghdadi added: “Obey our orders or regret it”.

Bush will of course reject it, because he doesn't talk to 'terrorists'. The war, the occupation, the insurgency, the slaughter and the bloodletting will continue.

After tens, perhaps hundreds of thousands more have died, in the end the U.S. will still be defeated. And everybody will regret the U.S. didn't get out earlier. In March 2003, peace loving people told Bush not to invade, and look what a mess he made. Now they tell him to get out, and he won't listen.

Republican Senator Gordon Smith, who initially voted for the war and now realizes his mistake, says the U.S. has the choice between 'cutting and running' and 'cutting and walking'. The second option involves the expenditure of more money and lives.

Maybe Bush will not regret it, but everybody else will. 

“Grave and deteriorating”

The Iraq Study Group made its report public today. It is not worth the scrap paper it is printed on. The only thing on the minds of the members of the commission is how to get the U.S. out of the shit. They don't give a damn about the Iraqi people who find themselves in a living hell created by the Devil and His Poodle, war criminals Bush and Blair.

It is not going to give back a decent and peaceful life to the Iraqi people and it isn't even going to get the U.S. out of the shit. Because it doesn't recommend immediate and unconditional withdrawal of U.S. forces. And Bush is not going to implement it anyway... He already rejected one of the key recommendations, to hold direct talks with Iran and Syria.

The report recognizes that Iraq is in a mess. Do we need a commission to know that? And the two B's remain in denial.

A useful recommendation would have been to arrest Bush and Blair and fly them under armed guard to the International Court in The Hague to be prosecuted for the crime of aggression, genocide, war crimes and crimes against humanity.

“Nice words that had no effect," was the comment of a Sunni Arab employee of Iraq's Industry Ministry on similar reports written in the past (CNN: Iraq Study Group report gets cool reception among Iraqis)

And Bush will start to blame it all on the Iraqis, ungrateful for being 'liberated'... He is still waiting for other reports, from the Pentagon, the State Department and the National Security Council. More stupid words to hide behind and continue the slaughter of innocent Iraqis.

One of the commission's major recommendations is training and equipping more Iraqi security forces. That's exactly the same recommendation which was implemented after the U.S. military got stuck in the Vietnam War. When if finally realized it could not win the war, the U.S. government withdrew combat troops, increased the number of military advisers and beefed up the training of South Vietnam's forces. The end came in April 1975 when the last American diplomats fled by helicopter from the roof of their embassy in Saigon.

The same is bound to happen in Baghdad. The situation is indeed "grave and deteriorating". Just wait and see. 

“In the name of God”

The Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has written an open letter to the American people. Like his previous letter to Bush, it was dismissed by the White House as not worth commenting on. That's because Ahmadinejad is telling the truth.

Let's quote a few passages and see who is right or wrong, A. (Ahmadinejad) or B. (Bush)?

1.“In the name of God, the Compassionate, the Merciful. O, Almighty God, bestow upon humanity the perfect human being promised to all by You, and make us among his followers.”

• Pretending to speak in the name of God doesn't sound good to an atheist, but many heads of state and politicians are invoking God, including Bush. A=0; B=0.
  

2.“Persistent aggressions by the Zionists are making life more and more difficult for the rightful owners of the land of Palestine. In broad day-light, in front of cameras and before the eyes of the world, they are bombarding innocent defenseless civilians, bulldozing houses, firing machine guns at students in the streets and alleys, and subjecting their families to endless grief.”

• A. is right to support the Palestinian resistance against Zionist aggression, while B. supports Israel all the way. A=1; B=0.
  

3.“You have heard that the US administration is kidnapping its presumed opponents from across the globe and arbitrarily holding them without trial or any international supervision in horrendous prisons that it has established in various parts of the world.”

• While Iran has also been accused of kidnapping (and even murdering) its own dissidents, this cannot compare with what the U.S. administration has been doing since September 11, 2001. It has kidnapped and tortured hundreds of innocent foreigners who did not receive a trial at all. A=1; B=0.
  

4.“The legitimacy, power and influence of a government do not emanate from its arsenals of tanks, fighter aircrafts, missiles or nuclear weapons. Legitimacy and influence reside in sound logic, quest for justice and compassion and empathy for all humanity.”

• Iran does not use its military to impose its will on other countries. The U.S. does. A=1; B=0.
  

5.“Is it not possible to put wealth and power in the service of peace, stability, prosperity and the happiness of all peoples through a commitment to justice and respect for the rights of all nations, instead of aggression and war?”

• Iran has not invaded any other country, it has itself been the victim of aggression. The U.S. has committed many acts of aggression against other countries. A=1; B=0.
  

6.“We all condemn terrorism, because its victims are the innocent. But, can terrorism be contained and eradicated through war, destruction and the killing of hundreds of thousands of innocents?”

• No, terrorism cannot be eradicated through war. It will cease to exist when desperate people no longer see it as a means to fight imperialism, that is when imperialism ceases to exist. Therefore, if you want to prevent terrorism, fight imperialism. A=1, B=0.
  

That's 5 points for A. and 0 for B. Congratulations, George W.!

Impeach Bush!

Bush lied again. He said the Republicans would win. They didn’t. The Democrats won the House and most probably the Senate also. And bingo! Everybody is crying out loud for bipartisanship. Did Bush ever want to work together with the Democrats when he didn’t need them? Of course not.

The Democrats on the other hand are as spineless as melted butter. Now that they have the majority in Congress, why don’t they vote to impeach Bush? The Republicans tried to impeach Clinton for misplacing his cigars (and lying under oath, but Bush is lying every time all the time and never even takes an oath). The Democrats still don’t have the necessary majority to impeach Bush, but the attempt itself could split the Republicans. Because they all want to remain in power, and the further they distance themselves from Bush the better. The majority of Americans is sick of their Commander-in-Chief.

Impeach Bush. That’ll make Cheney president… Well then, impeach Cheney, Rumsfeld and Rice and drive this bunch of war criminals out of Washington. Then bring them to justice at the International Court.

The Democrats could set the ball rolling. But they won’t. They are a lump of melting butter. 

Bush: a danger to peace

An opinion poll commissioned by The Guardian shows the British believe George W. Bush is a more dangerous man than the president of Iran (62% think he is a danger), the North Korean leader (69%) and the leader of Hizbullah (65%). Osama bin Laden tops the list with 87%. Only 10% of British voters think that Bush poses no danger at all. 71% of British voters say the invasion of Iraq was unjustified.

The British are supposed to be the Americans’ best allies. If 75% believe Bush is a danger to world peace, even a larger share of peoples in other countries will agree. His only true friends are American Christian fundamentalists and Israeli Zionists.

Meanwhile the U.S. government has shut down the “Operation Iraqi Freedom Document Portal” website because it offered info on how to build a atom bomb. Republicans hoped to use the site to find new evidence of the so-called dangers posed by former Iraqi President Saddam Hussein’s weapons program.

Great! Iran and North Korea face sanctions because of nuclear proliferation, while the U.S. government puts an atomic bomb ‘cook book’ online. The U.S. doesn’t care about nuclear proliferation because its has a tremendous superiority in nuclear weapons. It uses the topic to beat countries it doesn’t like. 

Stay or change course?

So George W. dropped his mantra ‘Stay the course’ in Iraq. Now even the blind and the deaf can see and hear that Iraq is a bloody mess. George W. is of course too idiotic to see or hear whatsoever, but since Congress elections are coming up on November 7 and the Republicans are set to lose BIG, he is at last willing to utter some nonsensical rubbish to try to turn the tide.

He still believes he can achieve final victory in Iraq if only the tactics are adjusted a bit. Bullshit! When the U.S. invaders change tactics, the insurgents will adjust theirs and the number of American body bags and Iraqi victims will continue to rise.

It’s the strategy, stupid! Invading and occupying another country will only lead to resistance. Mao said, where there is oppression, there is resistance. The U.S. and their British poodles should get out of Iraq immediately. 

Bush in space

The 1967 United Nations Outer Space Treaty prohibits the deployment of weapons of mass destruction in space. But Bush wants to turn space into a war zone. A new policy says the U.S. has the right to conduct whatever activities necessary for its own national interest AND to take measures to deny adversaries the use of space for activities hostile to those interests. The rights the U.S. is claiming for itself, it is denying to others. That’s called ‘Washington’ style freedom.

The Pentagon is seeking hundreds of millions of dollars from Congress to develop space weapons. That may still be avoided if as expected the Republicans lose both houses of Congress in the November 7 election.

Bush wants to be Darth Vader, or rather the Evil Emperor reigning over outer space. But as in ‘Star Wars’, the emperor will be destroyed and the rebels will be victorious. The dark side of the Force will never triumph. Bush will be defeated!
